
BBI Zakayo, Power and Sure reign supreme in Day 2 of Mayo Bullfighting tournament

Intense and fierce fights were witnessed as the inaugural Mozzart Bet Mayo Bullfighting tournament entered it's second day at the Shieywe Grounds on Thursday.
Exhilarated crowds thronged the expansive ring in their thousands to witness the massive six bulls, in action on Day 2,lock horns for bragging rights and pride.
The field was nearly full with fans and excitement as early as 8am, with owners using the remaining hour to kick off for final touches and hyping their bulls.
As expected Isukuti tunes rent the air but what made the difference in Day 2 was the arrival of experienced player and AFC Leopards fan Ainea Mukaisi, who wowed the crowd with his mastery of the drum and singing.
The first contest saw the much-supported Ashu from Imakhaya take on Sure from Ileho in Isukha South, match that lasted for four minutes.
Ashu, was ushered into the ring in style as supporters chanted on top of their voices with their special Isukuti player doing justice to the hundreds, who followed the bull closely.
However, Sure would not be cowed by the grand entry as his sharp horns and power were no match and would be declared winner after four minutes of intense action.
What followed was the shortest contest of the tournament as BBI Zakayo from Mukhonje needed less than a minute to floor Defender from Imutaho.
Christened Mtoza Ushuru (tax collector), Zakayo caught the attention of everyone on the ring given the unique name and how quickly he edged Defender.
Fans in support of Defender unsuccessfully tried to request for a rematch but their pleas fell of deaf ears as Zakayo was already on his way out.
The final match saw Power from Malimili break sweat to edge Jasho from Museno, a contest which lasted for six minutes.
The tournament, which seeks to seeks to celebrate the Luhya culture, got underway on Wednesday with five fights taking place on the bullring.
Unlike in the opening two days, Friday action is scheduled to kick off in the afternoon at 3pm with just two contests on the cards.

Ringo Junior from Murhanda will take on Dragon from Shihumbu in Shinyalu. The tournament will conclude on Saturday.
